Aine Rogers
Hey there, friend! I am a 22-year-old Graphic Design student at Southern New Hampshire Online University. The Arts have been a fundamental part of my life since my early teenage years and my respect for it has only grown over the years. Though I may not be a world renowned artist I still take pride in my works. No matter what life might throw my way, art will always have its place in my heart and soul.
Fast Facts!
I am one of 10 children in my family. I am number 9 in the lineup but would still consider myself a middle child when it comes to the stereotypes of middle children. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where the cold and snow is a constant companion from October to March and the season of spring is a joke. Though I adore my hometown and all the fond places and memories, I decided to move for a new job opportunity.
I currently live in Tennessee and nanny my 2 nieces who are going on 1 year old and 3 years old. I started nannying when the oldest niece was but a wee baby, at 3 months old. While I do work full time, I have been blessed to be able to keep up with my schooling and complete my Bachelor’s program in Graphic Design at Southern New Hampshire University online.
I look forward to sharing more about my life’s journey and my journey as a graphic designer and I can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes me!
GO-TO DESIGN BOOKS

My first book is Thinking with Type by Ellen Lupton. This book is chalk full of history, examples, diagrams, and more. It has a section on the anatomy of typography, a section on how to pair different typefaces or different fonts from the same typeface. It has examples of how to utilize typography on different mediums like print and web. Even the layout of the book is appealing and enjoyable.

My other book that I love to reference for color is The Designer’s Dictionary of Color by Sean Adams, an author who has written some other favorite design books of mine. This book goes through and studies individual warm, cool, neutral, and specialty colors. It provides different examples of the color’s use in everyday life and it provides different color palette options based on the given color. This book is colorful (duh…) and enjoyable to flip through and it’s also very informative.
