
The purpose of this design artifact is to be a GIF for a multichannel advertising campaign. The intent is to advertise a deal for a free sample in the design shown here. The audience is anyone who likes ice cream, including families with children, and all other age groups.
The design artifact needed to show an image of ice cream, the logo, an icon, a tagline, notes about its ingredients, and a call-to-action button. The overall concept of this design was to create a GIF with a call-to-action button that changed text color to grab attention.
The overall concept of the design was to create an advertisement that showed an image of ice cream, the logo, and added a few icons. The design artifact met the audience requirements by featuring the logo, call-to-action button, tagline, ingredients tagline, icons, etc. The GIF part of the design shows the text in the button going from the teal blue to white, fading in and out.
The message the design artifact communicates is that their ice cream is handmade, tastes good, and is free of artificial flavors, preservatives, emulsifiers, and stabilizers, and that they also have options for those with allergies or food restrictions.
To use the elements and principles of design, I focused a lot on white space and balance to make sure the icons and images were not overwhelmed. I used text and hierarchy to show the most important information, and used color and contrast to make sure the text stood out.
A unique aspect of the design is that I wanted to create a feeling of fun and whimsy with the colors. This piece showcases my abilities as a designer, by showing I know how to create GIFs and other items for a multi-channel advertising campaign.
