Amethyst Bay Resort & Spa Flyer
Since this is a publication with mostly text and a few images, I used InDesign to design this flyer. I employed line, color, shape, form, value, and space to this design and included the principles of design that demonstrate skill and depth of knowledge. I use texture in the background and also use white space to show emphasis.
Village Crest March 2024 Newsletter
I used InDesign to create this newsletter. I chose InDesign because it offers powerful layout and typography tools that allow to create visually appealing and well-structured newsletters. It also integrates with other applications such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I used a three-column grid to keep things organized.
Town Chinese Menu
I used InDesign to create this menu. This program excels at managing multi-page documents and allows for easy creation and navigation between pages while maintaining consistent design elements throughout the document. I used a four-column grid so everything aligned. I like the wood and bamboo background, so I went with browns for my color palette. A lot of attention to detail was used in creating this menu. The spacing between the items is consistent as well as the spacing after the headers. There is enough room down the middle of the inside piece for a fold and I even created a QR code. This piece is cost effective because it only uses one piece of 11”x17” piece of paper folded in half.
Trifold brochure
I used InDesign to lay out this brochure. I also used Photoshop to create the images and Illustrator to create the blue graph in the upper left corner of the inside pages. Using multiple platforms gives you diversity and allows your creative juices to flow. The request was to create a trifold marketing brochure to sell a PlasmidPro Maxi Porcessor. I was given copy, photos and the creative concept (the red DNA background). My job was to put it all together in a cohesive manner. I started by creating my template. I was given printer specs and created my pages, then I started with the cover and when on from there. I received a lot of feedback from the client and reviewers. Originally, the DNA with the red background was spinning the wrong way, so I was asked to flip the image. There were also a lot of copy edits, but not too many design edits. Attention to detail is important when designing a trifold as far as the template goes because the page that folds in is smaller than the others. Also, since this is a printed piece, all of the images have to be high resolution for a nice crisp printed piece.
