Art Gallery Promotional Catalogue

Students of this course demonstrate understanding of layout and publishing concepts through the creation of an art catalogue. The client Metromoheim Museum required various digital and print materials for promotion of “Art Talk: Inclusion and Diversity Through an Art Conversation Exhibition.” The client requested an art catalogue collecting the works from one of the collections featured in the special exhibition for printing and digital download.

The presented document features one of the collections, “Portraitry & Flora Fusion,” with client provided copy and imagery.

Modular grids were utilized throughout the document for combining the visual and textual elements in a clean, coherent design. Images are presented in the full span of the page for maximum detail on the left hand side of each two-page spread. As the most striking aspect of a human face is the eyes, the copy to the right of the image is aligned to the eyeline of the portrait where composition of the image allows.
