Over the past few years, I have dedicated myself to mastering After Effects, teaching myself how to manipulate various typography projects, edit video, create visual effects, and understand the nuances of motion design. This journey has allowed me to experiment with and refine a wide range of techniques, from animating text and integrating complex visual effects to producing polished video edits. Through persistent learning and hands-on practice, I have developed a robust skill set in After Effects, enabling me to bring dynamic and engaging visuals to my projects.
Esports Seoul Dynasty Intro
As a huge fan of the Seoul Dynasty esports team, I wanted to create something simple to share on my social media profiles like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. Using After Effects, I applied various effects to manipulate the text and logo, giving them a dynamic and engaging look.
Glitch Name
As a gamer, I often see trailers with glitch effects and wanted to see if I could recreate those effects using simple shapes and the letters of my name. Using After Effects’ powerful tools, I experimented with manipulating glitch effects to achieve this look.
Lighting/Thunder Logo Intro
Using the After Effects plugin called Saber, I manipulated lighting effects to outline my logo, giving it an electric feel. This plugin allowed me to create vibrant, animated light paths that enhanced the logo’s visual impact. By adjusting the parameters within Saber, I was able to achieve a dynamic and energetic outline that made the logo stand out with a striking, electrified appearance.
Smoke Typography Intro
Using After Effects’ built-in effects, I created a metallic shiny text effect for the word “Smoke.” To enhance the realism, I incorporated real smoke footage as a mask for the text, making it appear as though the words were being revealed by someone blowing the smoke. This combination of effects and masking techniques resulted in a visually striking and immersive effect, blending the metallic text with the organic movement of the smoke for a dynamic and captivating result.
Fire Typography Intro
Using the After Effects plugin Saber, I outlined the text “fire” to give it a glowing, intense effect. To enhance the visual impact, I incorporated another plugin called Trapcode Particular to create fire particles for the background. This combination of Saber and Trapcode Particular allowed me to generate a dynamic and immersive fiery scene, with the text and background seamlessly integrating to create a powerful and captivating visual.
