It’s all about the Logo

Lil’ Guppies Scuba School

Tools: Adobe Illustrator

Vision: Lil’ Guppies Scuba School is a new business with an opportunity to make a great first impression with their logo. They were in need of a mark that showcased their vision and message of a safe environment to learn scuba and swimming within their community.

Design: This project contrasts complimentary blues and oranges to create a fun and energetic logo for a kid friendly environment. The yellow and orange are playful and light while the blue signifies a sense of security and professionalism. The typography and colors were carefully selected ensure trust and excitement parents, yet be playful for the children, ages 3-13 years. I have taken care to vary line weight as well to create a dynamic flow to the logo. The gender neutral figure dives with confidence into the water which contributes to the company’s message of teaching skillful scuba diving and safety. It effectively communicates the company’s vision in scuba and swimming lessons with security and enjoyments.

They have created a community of individuals who care for one another and enjoy driving and showing off their cars. The brand is focused on Lexus owners and get to know new friends all the time. They enjoy driving with their friends, barbequing, and meeting up for their annual Vegas Weekend trip.

Design: This logo encompasses the unique nature or cruising around in southern California. The illustrated palm trees and silhouettes of popular car models lends to the excitement of the Lexus owners as well as the familiarity of California living. The sunset colors are warm and inviting just as the meets are inclusive and friendly. This logo was created originally for Instagram profile use and has since grown to merchandizing. Shawn Built

Tools: Audodesk Sketchbook and Adobe Photoshop

Vision: Shawn Built is a backyard mechanic with a YouTube and Instagram following. He needed a decal and logo that would be able to be placed on his customer’s cars and be used as a modern business card. Shawn_Built is his username for both social media accounts where he shows off his passion for modifying vehicles.

Design: I have employed line, value, proportion, and hierarchy in this design. The car is placed to show off the engine bay and the possibilities for what could go inside. The car image is based on Shawn’s own car to show off his passion for the build and the idea that he will treat his client’s cars with the same passion. The wrench not depicted as a standard wrench, because Shawn does not do standard work. His work is upgraded and specialized. Furthermore, a Grange sans serif font was decided on because of it’s bold, masculine, and modern characteristics.
